An exceptionally effective way to increase security in spending funds from your current account

Using SMS Notification for Available Balances and Payments Due allows you to get SMS information about:

  • Each successful or unsuccessful transaction with the debit or credit card issued to you by Municipal Bank so that you can react immediately in an attempt at illegal use of the card;
  • The balance at your card account in BORICA, after you send an SMS to your servicing mobile operator with your personal code to 190091 (for M-Tel subscribers) or 1618 (for Globul and Vivacom subscribers).

The cardholder owes no fees to the Bank for the information received by SMS on the balance available at the card account.

Fees

  • Fee for each text message sent to the customer for a transaction with the bank card – BGN 0.18 incl. VAT.
  • Fee for balance available at a card account – collected by the respective mobile operator in accordance with the customer’s tariff plan.

3D Secure Protection of Your Internet Payments

3D Secure Payments is a service of Municipal Bank allowing payments with a bank card on the Internet at the highest level of security. Holders of Maestro and MasterCard international bank cards issued by the Bank can use the service.

How to obtain a SecureCode to access the service?

The 3D Secure Payments Service requires a SecureCode for verification of Internet payments. If you want to use the service, you can get a temporary SecureCode for registering, in one of the following ways:

  • At your servicing office of the Bank you can get a temporary SecureCode for registration which is valid for 72 hours as of receipt and serves for registration via this designated link  on the website of the Bank. After this period is over the temporary SecureCode shall expire and you must visit the Bank again to get a new temporary secure code.
  • At an ATM. Please note that not all ATMs in the country can be used for this purpose. ATMs that can print a secure code, allow for sequential selection of the following features: "Other services", "Pay via Internet"; "Verified by VISA MasterCard SecureCode ". Choose "temporary SecureCode for registration” from the last screen.

The ATM will print a receipt with a 9-digit temporary SecureCode valid for 72 hours and serving for a registration through this gate. After this period is over the temporary SecureCode shall expire and you must print a temporary SecureCode again via an ATM.

How do you register for the service?

You need to register the bank card of choice in order to be able to make 3D Secure Payments. Registration is done by the temporary SecureCode for registration and in compliance with the requirements detailed here. The permanent SecureCode you will generate during registration must be alphanumerical, with a length between 6 and 12 symbols.

How does the service function?

Once you have registered your card for 3D Secure Payments you may use your SecureCode for verification of Internet payments in the following sequence:

  1. Entering the payment details specified by the Internet merchant, and:
  • If the Internet merchant uses the 3D Secure Payments platform it will check online if the card is registered for the service;
  • After the check is completed a payment screen will pop up with the following information: merchant, amount, date, card number and personal greeting.
  1. Verification of the information submitted and entering the SecureCode for 3D Secure Payments upon which the security system verifies the SecureCode you have entered. In case of a positive identification the payment is authorized and finalized. In case of a negative identification (wrong secure code, card not registered or not valid, etc.) the payment order shall be denied.
