Only a month later after Municipal Bank put on the market the unique service of the contactless debit card there is an increased interest and customer satisfaction from its usage the Bank noted. The new debit card can be used simultaneously as a transport document while travelling in the subway as well as electronic payment instrument together with all functions of a standard contactless card. One of its advantages noted by the customers is the convenience to carry one card less in their wallet.   

There is a growing interest for electronic payments in the public transport reported the MasterIndex 2016 study that Mastercard periodically is conducting among the active cardholders in Bulgaria. This year nearly 13% of the inquired cardholders indicated that they would like to pay with a debit or credit card in the public transport, and compared to the previous years their number is growing.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Municipal Bank offers to its customers the opportunity to travel as Europeans in the metropolitan subway. They will be pleased with the rewards from a promotional game, which game is part of the jubilee program of the Bank. For 20 owners of contactless cards issued by Municipal Bank the first loaded value for the package of single trips for the subway will be recovered to their accounts. The participation in the game is automatic for all who have loaded a package of 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 single trips for the subway using the transport application METROPASS by Municipal Bank. The game will start in September and will continue until the end of October. The picking of the winners will be on 2nd November 2016 by random selection and in the presence of a notary.

Anyone who wants to benefit from the service and to participate in the game may declare the issuance of a contactless debit card in a convenient office of Municipal Bank for him/her. Also an additional contactless debit cards can be issued to the current account.
