• Municipal bank noted its 20^th anniversary with a concert and a charitable cause

Municipal Bank is an excellent example of a public bank, which meets the highest professional and European standards. The bank is fully prepared for the new economic challenges and I wish the Bank to continue to be successful during the next 20 years also”, said Marcel Roy, General Secretary of the European Association of the Public Banks. He arrived yesterday in Bulgaria especially for the occasion of Municipal Bank and to congratulate the institution for its’ 20^th anniversary. The Association represents over 90 financial organization, government and public banks from various European countries.        

Many guests from the country and abroad arrived for the Bank’s celebration. Among the guests were the representatives of Hypo Noe – bank # 1 in Lower Austria and also representatives of the Dutch bank ING. 

Yesterday Municipal Bank organized a festive concert in Sofia for its anniversary. Thousands of Sofia’s citizens and guests of the capital were gathered for the concert on Square “Kniaz Alexander I Batemberg”. The main square was filled with a good mood by the charming Mihaela Fileva and her life band, the unique group “Akaga”, and the favorite of the girls Angel Kovachev and his band. The public was applauding the celebrating Municipal bank and was singing their most favorite songs along with the performers.

I am glad that so many people are celebrating with us the 20^th anniversary of Municipal Bank. This concert was especially for all our clients, the citizens and the guests of Sofia and we are thanking all of them for supporting the Bank. For those two decades we proved to be stable and successful finance institution. I am sure that in the future we will continue to justify the trust of our customers” said Sasho Tchakalski – Chairman of the MB and Executive Director of Municipal Bank.

Elen Gerdjikov, Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, came also on the stage to congratulate the Bank. “The time showed that 20 years ago when the Bank was established the Sofia Municipality did right by doing so. It is a fact that we have a very successful cooperation in the city sake and we work together to create even better conditions for life in our city” said Mr. Gerdjikov.

Apart from the concert on the occasion of its anniversary Municipal Bank also supported a charitable initiative. The Bank provided funding for the creation of a Day Center for social integration and rehabilitation for people with disabilities in Alexandrovska Hospital. The funds donated by the Bank will support the reintegration of disadvantaged people in society.
