05.02.2015Important Notice on Internet Banking Certificates

Municipal Bank currently uses two types of digital certificates for its Internet Banking – Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) issued by registered certification service providers (CSPs) in Bulgaria, and certificates issued by Municipal Bank and used solely in its Internet Banking. In order to increase the security of its Internet Banking, Municipal Bank will as of 1 May 2015 suspend the issuing of digital certificates for banking and as of 1 July 2015 it will discontinue their use. Starting from 16 February 2015, the bank will offer preferential prices of Qualified Electronic Signatures complete with cards and card readers issued by the CSP “InfoNotary”, which may be purchased at the offices of the bank. Customers who use Internet Banking only to view their bills (passive access) are not required to use a QES.
