17.10.2013Municipal Bank Tells Students How to Take Care of Their Money

An initiative to increase financial literacy at an early age was organized by Municipal Bank. Sasho Tchakalski, Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of the Bank, met with more than 100 fourth graders of different schools in Sofia.
"Today, it is crucial to be able to properly manage our money. I believe that if children learn early how to plan their money, how to save and how to spend reasonably they will grow as people with higher financial literacy taking banks as their partners in business and personal finance. This is why we focused on fourth graders explaining them some rules quite accessibly given their age," Sasho Tchakalski said.
The Executive Director of Municipal Bank explained some basic banking terms to the children in the form of a game. During the event, he asked the kids questions to check their knowledge.
"I was pleasantly surprised how much modern children know. They showed genuine interest in our meeting and I undoubtedly heard interesting ideas and thoughts, so I will not be surprised if tomorrow some of them become big names in banking," Tchakalski added.
