Municipal Bank AD offers Special Charity Current Accounts to Individuals (the Accounts) in:

  • BGN;
  • USD;
  • EUR;
  • CHF;
  • GBP.

Charity/Donation funds are accrued at them - for medical treatment of persons, education of persons, aiding the disabled, parentless children, disaster sufferers, and for supporting persons for social, educational, sport, culture, and other purposes.
The account purpose is defined by the person opening it, and it may not contravene the legislation in the country or the public order, nor allow ambiguities, that could hamper disbursement of the amounts paid in.

Documents needed for opening the accounts:

  • Identification document;
  • Sample bank account opening request form for individuals.

The following contract is concluded upon opening the Special Charity Current Account:
Framework Current Account to Individuals Contract and General Terms and Conditions of the Contract. The Framework Contract shall be signed by the individual opening the Account and the account holder (or its legal representative or a person duly authorised by the account holder).
Persons eligible to open the accounts are local and foreign natural or legal persons.

  • An account to nonage or underage persons shall be opened by a parent (guardian or trustee) or by a third party natural or legal person;
  • An account to a legal major shall be opened personally by him or her or by a third party natural or legal person;
  • An account to a person under judicial disability is opened by its legal representative or by a third party – individual or legal entity.

When opening a subscription account for medical treatment abroad, a case history of the disease provided by a Bulgarian hospital is required, as well as a permit for treatment abroad from the Ministry of Health in case the treatment shall be at the expense of the budget, in addition to the specified documents.

Holders of the accounts may be local and foreign individuals.
Initial minimum required balance for opening – equal to the minimum available balance required by the Bank forcurrent accounts to individuals as per the Tariff and the Interest Rates.
The interest under the accounts is accrued and paidat the end of the year or upon account closure, on the basis of a year of 360/360 days.The interests accrued on these accounts equal the interest rates in force for term deposits to individuals with a term of 12 months for the respective currency.
Depositors under the account may be local and foreign natural or legal persons.

Specific terms for disposal of the funds under the accounts:

  • The funds may be used only for the purpose preliminarily set in the current account agreement or in accordance with the subsequent designation of the funds accrued in case of impossibility to utilize or in partial utilization of the funds at the account, as specified in the agreement;
  • The right to dispose of the funds at the account lies with the account holder, his or her legal representative, or person authorized by the account holder. In case the account holder is a nonage or underage person or has a guardian or trustee, disposal of the funds at the account shall be performed following court approval pursuant to the provisions of the Family Code and in compliance with the requirements of the internal banking regulations on depositing;
  • Disposal of funds from the accounts may be performed at the Bank's Branches where the accounts are maintained;
  • Additional set of documents is required to submit for foreign currency transfers from the account exceeding the statutory limits.

The provisions of the Tariff shall apply for Special Charity Current Accounts to Individual Account Holders, with the exception of the following fees, which shall not be collected by Municipal Bank AD:

  • Opening national and foreign currency account fee;
  • Maintenance of national and foreign currency account fee;
  • Closing national and foreign currency account fee;
  • Cash depositing of national and foreign currency fee;
  • Cash withdrawal of national and foreign currency fee;
  • Incoming national and foreign currency interbank credit transfer fee;
  • Incoming national and foreign currency credit transfer within the system of the Bank fee;
  • Outgoing national and foreign currency interbank credit transfer fee, including though Internet Banking (with the exception of cash depositing commission);
  • Amendment of a payment order in foreign currency fee;
  • Canceling a payment transfer already ordered in foreign currency (whenever possible) fee;
  • Inquiry from other banks or amendment from a customer (e.g. because of missing/wrong account specified, incomplete beneficiary name, etc.) concerning inaccuracies under a payment transfer ordered in foreign currency fee;
  • Outgoing national and foreign currency intrabank credit transfer fee;
  • For each transfer of funds between current accounts/deposits to the same holder;
  • For each transfer of funds from a current account to accounts/deposits of other customers of the Bank;

All other services in relation to the accounts opened shall be subject to the fees and commissions as per the Bank's Tariff.
The amounts at the Term Deposits with Municipal Bank AD are secured by the Deposit Insurance Fund, at the statutory levels.
