Municipal Bank partnered with Sofia Municipality in organizing the iconic football match between Aston Villa veterans and the legends of the national team of Bulgaria. The funds raised from the game will be donated to children suffering from leukaemia. It is this disease, which footballer Stiliyan Petrov has successfully been fighting for a year now. The charity event was organized by Sofia Municipality in partnership with FC Aston Villa.
Over 10,000 spectators watched the game at Vasil Levski Stadium on 26 May dedicated to the former captain of Bulgaria and Aston Villa Stiliyan Petrov, who finished his playing career.
Famous players from the World Cup in the USA in 1994 were part of the team of Bulgaria - Hristo Stoichkov, Nasko Sirakov, Lyuboslav Penev, Jordan Lechkov, Krasimir Balakov, and our most successful player at the moment - Dimitar Berbatov – along with other Bulgarian football stars.
